Little Bapu
Hello everyone,
I’m writing to you from India. We are doing very well, but we are struggling with this incredible heat of 43 degrees – and that’s just at the beginning of a summer that is expected to be even hotter. When we turn on the cold water in the shower, the water is hot—it’s unbelievable! The other night, when I went to say goodnight to the girls, I hugged Anjana. Her pajamas were completely soaked. She told me it was so hot that before going to bed, she had wet them with water, put them in the fridge, and then put them back on to feel cooler—crazy! I ended up trying the trick myself, and it actually works.
Putting aside the heat, which is shaping our daily life at the moment, let me tell you more. I’d like to tell you about little Bapu. He is a truly adorable boy who spends the whole day with us. For the first time in his life, he received a letter from our German friend who had visited us, and inside there were photos of him. Bapu was so happy, and the first thing he said when opening it was, “Good thing I already know my letters!” Right after that, he started reciting the alphabet to me without taking a breath—very, very funny. Then he saw his photo and said in surprise, “Is that me? What a handsome boy!” He could hardly believe seeing himself in a photo. Oh, the innocence of little Bapu is so beautiful – and he was absolutely right: he is indeed very handsome.
Sending you lots of greetings. until next time,
Namasté,
Christiane
