The Persistent Monsoons

Hello everyone,

After the summer, we are back and starting a new school year. This time, I don’t have particularly good news, but fortunately, it’s nothing that can’t be fixed.

It has rained a lot in India. The monsoons have been particularly strong, and unfortunately, water has entered our new house because the roof is made of concrete and has some cracks. As soon as we noticed it, we contacted the construction company, and they came to repair it. We thought the repairs they made would be enough—but unfortunately, they weren’t! Water came into the children’s rooms again, and we were left speechless. We won’t be able to properly fix the problem until October because the weather forecast says that the rain is not going to stop anytime soon.

Well, this is the situation we’re dealing with. But then I think of all those poor people in Nepal and tell myself, “Compared to them, we are doing perfectly fine.”

This is the first time we have taken on the construction of a house, and from what I have learned, things always happen during a building project. Right now, something comes to mind: my teacher, Pujya Rameshwarananda Giri Maharaj, the founder of Campus PHI in Extremadura, once told me, “If you ever see someone walking down the street shouting into their phone, you can be sure they have some kind of construction work going on at home!”
