Happy Diwali … and finally the book
Hi to all Childsrights Friends and collaborators,
At the beginning of this month, we have celebrated the Diwali festival. A holiday similar to Christmas.
Diwali is a religious celebration known as the “festival of lights” which is celebrated by members of different religions like Hindu, Buddhism, Seism and Jainism. The lamps and candles represent hope. At night, there will be artificial fireworks that welcome the new Hindu year.
We prepare a special menu for the children and give them sweets. They also receive a set of new clothes and they are more than happy once they can try them on for the first time.
This time I received a present myself. Anjana made the beautiful painting which you can see in the picture. I simply love it! The rest of the children gave me lots of hugs and kisses, very valuable presents.
NEWS:
Our beloved friend Quico from Valencia came to visit us in Jaipur. It took one year to arrive… The reason he needed this long is that he came by bike!
He built his own bike, two bikes in one! It looks more like an Elephant than a bike, very proper for India. The children were very surprised! We are so thankful for the big effort. LONG LIVE QUICO OLÉ ,OLÉ!
