MUMBAI

Hello everybody,

Welcome to Mumbai, (before Bombay, name was changed in 1995) a city of more than 20 Million inhabitants.. Many people, many cars, incredible contamination, noises, a different smell in each corner and incredible colors. There are sacred and holy cows in the middle of the streets, children begging, people with leprosy and affected by poliomyelitis. You can see elderly wandering aimlessly, flying birds, rats running from one corner to another and trash all over.  Mumbai appears in the list of most expensive cities in the world, renting a flat is almost impossible.

I have never seen living spaces so small. Look at the picture! It shows two flats in the middle of the center. The place is so tiny you can’t even stand up in it and they have to hang their clothes outside.

Seeing this kind of living makes me feel a little distressed because of the thousands of people that live in the streets or in shacks in the surrounding areas.

I always liked my house in Valencia, now even more because I´m more aware of how lucky I am to be able to enjoy such a beautiful place. I wish that all people can live in good such conditions and realise how lucky I am.
