IT IS HOT!
Namaste beloved Friends and Childsrights members,
I hope you all are doing well!
Here in India it´s summer and it is insanely hot. With temperatures of around 50 Degree Celsius it is becoming unbearable. Even the nights are hot with no hint of breeze of air.
Add to that the fact that the streets in India are very, very dirty. In order to get a better idea, I included the attached picture. I never understood and still don´t, why they don’t clean the streets a little more often. Imagine how it smells in the summer heat! But what shell we do? We simply have to accept it.
The children are well. They have passed their exams and are now enjoying their summer vacation that takes place during the hottest months from mid-April until July 1st. There are not many things to do. The best activity is swimmimg in the pool. In Jaipur it´s not that easy to go swimming however in Khajuraho I often go with them to the pool and they really enjoy it a lot. Im teaching them how to keep themselves above the water. I love to see them so happy in the water. It can be quite challenging at times since not all of them know how to swim all by themselves yet so I have to pay a close attention.
At night after sunset, we take walks in the fields. All of us enjoy those walks when we observe birds, buffalo’s and even cows and dogs. We pay attention to the trees and flowers. I think being in nature and in contact with earth is the best for the children as well for us grown-ups.
Greetings Nane & Kids
