Hopefully all of this will be over soon!
Namaste to all of you,
I thought I would be able to see you guys personally this month but no luck for me! I am still here in India, learning how useful it can be not to think too much!
I hope you are all good, and healthy, with a roof over your head and food!
These basic necessities are so important and many people here are missing them. The situation is very serious, the country doesn’t know how to manage the virus and it has simply gotten out of control.
We continue giving out food to the families and we have reached 500 so far. I can assure you, this could not have been done without your help! Thank you! Without this support from all of you many people would have died from starvation. Even though the virus is expanding the stores are back to being open. I spoke with a store owner and he tells me that they are forced to reopen since they don’t have any savings in order to survive. If the virus hits, they have at least the chance to fight it but against the hunger there is no defence. Either you die because of the virus or starvation. I left the store crying since this is the cruel reality.
Here the news of our angels:
In Khajuraho:
School maintains closed, so I hired a private teacher who comes to the house every day for four hours, after this she gives them homework. I´m teaching them English and a little bit of spanish as well. On the weekend the children are receiving music lessons. This is very good since they didn´t go to school since March and I´m finally running out of ideas of what to teach them. I´m so pround of the children, that they endured all these months without complaining once. I was very surprised to see how chilled out and happy they were despite being locked inside the house all the time (without TV, Computers or Mobile phones)
In Jaipur:
The children in Jaipur also receive teachers at home and have a music teacher as well. But in Jaipur we do have Computers and a Television. That way they can watch a relaxing movie every once in a while. They are doing very well but I haven’t been able see them this time. I was in Jaipur when the lockdown wasn´t in place yet but they had detected a couple of cases which was reason enough to prevent me entering my own house.
I did see some of our students, that don´t live in our house anymore, so I was able to visit and make sure they are doing well. The university is closed but the studies continue online. They have a great routine including reading, yoga and meditation. I see them balanced even though they are dying to get out in the street which I think is totally normal as a student.
I’m sending you guys many greetings, love, lots of light and mainly lots of health!
We wish you a great summer and hopefully we will see each other in September (even though its still uncertain)
