The new troop
Dear friends,
I am back home, in Valencia, adapting to the changes from one country to another, which is always a little bit challenging!
The children are doing well although they are complaining that I am gone. I miss them a lot too, but there is work to do in Europe to get everything back on track!
Our dear Honey is still undergoing treatment for her cancer. She is very fragile, the treatment is very hard, but it is the only option we have. We hope that this difficult process will help her to become healthy again.
At Childsrights we have a “new troop”, ten children that we started to help, you can see them in the picture. They feel good with us although they are still a little shy but we are making progress little by little. The other day, one of the youngest children managed to count to 20 in English and he was very proud, “bravo” for him! Another of the girls, Sapna, has just experienced a very difficult trauma. Her father was a serious alcoholic and decided to end his life. We are very attentive to her because it is so hard to lose a parent this way.
Moving on to another topic, on July 1, the summer vacations will end. The monsoons will begin, rains that will alleviate this horrendous heat will cool down the mind and it will be able to start working again , I´m serious, when temperatures rise to 46, even 48 degrees, no one can think clearly nor does the body respond as we would like to.
We are also looking for a colege for Jyoti and Khushboo. It seems unbelievable that they have graduated and are about to leave home. Fortunately we will have them with us on the weekends. They are going to do a general course of study that lasts 3 years and then they will decide what profession they would like to pursue. With two more years of studies they will achieve whatever they want.
See you soon, namaste,
Christiane
