Soon the construction of the baby house will start
Namaste to all,
This month I’m greeting you from Valencia, I will be here for the next few months to work and also to escape the terrible heatwave in India that makes life extremely uncomfortable at this time of year. The children and I were already exposed to 48 Degrees and in Mumbai the temperature reached up to 64 Degrees, yes 64 DEGREES CELSIUS!!
This is a pretty inhuman situation. To make matters worse, almost nobody owns an air conditioner and very often the power supply is cut. Then there is the preoccupation of the water shortage and forest fires, simply a tough time.
The children are on vacation in the summer, until July 1st, this is when the monsoons arrive and the heat is more bearable. They are healthy and good. Little by little they learn new things about life, discovering the world. Sometimes they ask about something that makes me laugh since some of them are very innocent which is adorable.
At the beginning of this month my dear friend Victor from Valencia came to visit us in India. We visited Khajuraho where the land for the new “baby- house” will shelter 40 babies. Victor is the architect of this marvelous project, he really likes the terrain, its location and orientation. We investigated what type of material is available in India and there are many possibilities. He is making the last adjustments to the design and then we hope with a lot of prayer that we can start the construction in August/September.
The children are very happy to know Victor, the little time he had off he came and played with the little ones. It was very funny for the children and for me it was very nice to have the company of a Spanish friend. After being all day with the children I enjoyed having a grown up conversation.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISIT VICTOR!
Until next month
Christiane
