Hello everyone,
Sending warm greetings from Valencia! After three months in India, I’m finally back.
The journey home was quite let’s say, eventful. The flight from Delhi to Istanbul was delayed, and I missed my connecting flight to Valencia, so I had to spend the night in Istanbul. But it wasn’t all bad — the airline put us up in a luxury hotel with everything included, and I made friends with a Swedish woman who, under the pretext of “I’m never going to see you again,” opened up and told me all about her love life — past and present — and how she now lives with a man who “finally puts up with her.” I told her I was genuinely happy for her, and I shared a bit about my own life too.
She was really moved when I told her about our project in India and our incredibly lucky children — it was a beautiful moment.
More news… A while ago I told you that I sometimes visit children with disabilities — or better said, with different abilities.
At first, I didn’t really know what to do there, but little by little I realized how much I enjoyed spending time with them. They are so open and warm that any shyness I might have just fades away, and they’re the ones guiding me every step of the way. I’ve learned so much and feel incredibly grateful for this experience.
In the photo, you can see our dear Pooja. She might look very serious, but she really isn’t. She doesn’t speak and her spine is very curved, so she has a hunchback.
Even so, she loves sports and never sits still — just like me, haha.
Wishing you all a wonderful start to the summer. Sending hugs to everyone.
Namaste,
Christiane
